14 Indulgent Ways to Unwind on the Coast

on 22 May 2019 in Home & Lifestyle

Everybody needs a little indulgence sometimes. In fact, studies suggest that in order to maintain good health and wellbeing, you should actively seek recuperation from work and life demands in your leisure time. The key is to find things that relax you and then make sure you make time for them. Here are a number of ways you can sit back and unwind after a hard days work in the Gold Coast.

1.Early morning walk

An early morning walk gives you energy for the rest of the day and activates your body’s systems. Mental sharpness, improved mood and a positive mindset are just three consequences of a good walk. Our favourite early morning walk is the beautiful coastal scenic walk from Kirra to Point Danger and beyond to Duranbah Beach.

2. Breakfast with a view

Enjoy gourmet coffee, delicious food and fast, friendly service at The Black Sheep Espresso Baa, voted the #1 restaurant in Coolangatta. Located directly opposite Coolangatta Beach it’s the perfect place to stop, sit and watch the world go by. If you have a pooch you can bring him too and indulge your furry friend in a “Pupachino” – a lactose-free milk with dog-friendly chocolate on top.

3. Massage

Endota Spa offers total relaxation and rejuvenation with massage, facials, skin consultations and organic skin care products. Upon your arrival you’ll unwind in the cosy relaxation lounge before replenishing your mind, body and soul in one of its five treatment rooms. With highly-trained therapists you’ll leave feeling better than new.

4. Glamping

Replace the crowds and the complexities of life with a quiet spot amongst the trees. Nightfall Wilderness Camp is a unique glamping experience located in a large and relatively untouched pocket of forest at Lamington National Park. There’s just four luxury safari tents beside the crystal clear tumbling headwaters of Christmas Creek, allowing for reconnection, peace and calm. To add to your experience, Nightfall comes alive at night with an organic sensory overload under the stars.

5. Sunday Brunch

Having a catch up with friends is hugely important, with good social relationships offering a ton of health and wellbeing benefits. Good food is also important, so why not combine the two with Sunday brunch? Cafe 28 offers a breathtaking view over Coolangatta Beach and offers good, unpretentious, home-style food and artisan coffee. Balance savoury and sweet, great conversation and a relaxed vibe and soak in the Sunday spirit.

6. Charter a yacht

There’s no better way to spend a day on the Gold Coast than on the water and by chartering a yacht you can do it in style, glass of champagne in hand. Cruise past the mansions of Sovereign Island, stopover on Wavebreak or Stradbroke Island, or experience the ultimate overnight getaway.
