Meet the Retailers – Michelle Carr – Halo & Horns
Michelle Carr started Halo & Horns in 2014, a baby and kids wear store dedicated to sharing the benefits of bamboo and organic cotton. As a mum herself, Michelle knows that when it comes to precious skin, there is no better option – creating a comfortable and stylish range of cute clothes for every little body.
What is special about the range you have in Halo & Horns?
Halo & Horns create deliciously soft and durable baby and kids wear. Our range has been designed to be basics worn by our little loves every day, everywhere. Made of only the best bamboo and organic material, it’s good for them and effortless for mums. In fact, mums love our bubs clothes so much that we now also stock a range for adults that focuses on comfort, including oversized tees and slouchie pants.
What are the benefits of organic cotton?
Cotton’s texture is lovely to have against bare skin and its breathability makes clothing very comfortable. Cotton has excellent strength and durability. For any individuals with allergies or asthma, cotton is the ideal choice as the material itself is hypoallergenic and doesn’t cause any sort of irritation to skin.
Why is bamboo becoming more popular for clothing?
Bamboo is buttery soft and feels amazing on the skin. It never loses its shape and it has been found to be stronger, have better moisture absorption than the other materials and is greener and kinder to mother earth. Bamboo does not irritate the skin and is perfect and gentle on babies and those with sensitive skin. It’s also thermo regulating, keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter – perfect in our Queensland climate.
What makes these fabrics great options for summer?
The breathable nature of bamboo and organic cotton makes our clothing an excellent choice as the weather warms up – particularly for keeping little ones cool. Our basic range and every day durability means we are contributing to a conscious choice for helping the environment, reducing landfill and reducing the fast fashion culture.
