Skate or Scoot: The 2019 Must Have Trends

on 19 February 2019 in Shopping

The Strand at Coolangatta is the place to go for all the latest gear to get you sorted, with two flagship stores dedicated to being at the forefront of the two- and four-wheeled craft.

SKATE

Located at the Griffith Street entrance, Concrete Lines Skate Shop is the go-to for skateboarding on the Southern Gold Coast and is guaranteed to have all the essentials you need to get you skating these school holidays.

New to skateboarding? Birdhouse Completes are the perfect setup for those new to the sport or for those seeking a whole new setup that is affordable – no need to buy separate parts to build your own. With Tony Hawk behind the Birdhouse Pro Team, you know you’re onto a good thing with these completes.

Firm up your footwear with a solid pair of Etnies Shoes. Specially designed for skaters, get your hands on the latest Etnies styles in store for both adults and kids. Local team rider and skating sensation, Ash Wilcomes, swears by Etnies for their durability. He’s only 11, but he’s been shredding up the local scene from Elanora to Coomera in his Etnies.

Protective gear is a must for anyone on wheels. The new Triple 8 Gotham Helmet features MIPS; a special technology added in the helmet to protect riders from angled impacts and proven to reduce the risks of brain injury. Pair it with a set of 187 pads like Ash to cover your elbows, knees and wrists and you’re good to go.

SCOOT

If scooters are your wheels of choice, My Scooter Lab has everything you need under the one roof.

If you’re new to scooters, Micro Scooters are a great place to start. From the three wheeled Micro Mini Deluxe for the first timers to the Micro Maxi for the older kids and the Micro Premium Adult scooter, all the family will be scooting in no time.

For the big kids, the Inokim Electric Scooters are not only an environmentally friendly way to travel, but they are also tonnes of fun. Check out the four different models in store from the powerful Ox to the easy to carry Super Light.
