THE STRAND HOSTS BLEACH* ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
As part of Bleach* Festival’s Saltwater Sessions, talented Indigenous weaving artist Chantal Henley will be creating three large woven dilly bag sculptures that will be on display on the Ground Floor of The Strand near Boardriders from 22 March to 1 April. Festival-goers will also be able to marvel at the works as they are installed in the park across from The Strand for the outdoor concert on Saturday 1 April.
The visual installations will infuse the event with contemporary and traditional reflections of saltwater country.
When: 3:30pm – 9:00pm, Saturday 1 April
Where: Coolangatta Foreshore (opposite The Strand)
The Coolangatta Foreshore will be the stage for Saltwater Sessions, a beachside concert featuring performances from some of Australia’s very best musicians and visual artists, Dope Lemon (Angus Stone), Ash Grunwald, Tia Gostello, Emily Waramara as well as a special welcome performance from Kyle Slabb, Jaali Inc and Fred Leone.
When: 6:30pm – 9:30pm, 1 - 2 April
