Coolangatta’s fresh seafood offering has gone up a notch, with locals and visitors now able to enjoy beautifully cooked, fresh fish and chips overlooking Coolangatta Beach at Selfish.
Combining 30 years of chef experience and customer service, husband and wife team Adrian and Angela Wright have opened their latest fish and chip shop venture beachfront at The Strand at Coolangatta.
“We have the best weather, the best beaches and now we have one the region’s best chef's operating a new family owned fish and chip shop here at The Strand,” said Sarah Clasen, Marketing Manager at The Strand at Coolangatta.
With dine in or takeaway available, Selfish’s fresh daily offering includes a range of fresh seafood options such as fish, oysters and crustaceans to take home.
“The menu will focus on fish and chips cooked to order – with nothing pre-crumbed or battered in our shop,” said chef, Adrian Wright. Popular choices include grilled salmon, crumbed calamari, and crumbed, battered or grilled snapper.
“A beautiful hot and cold seafood platter paired with a chilled glass of Veuve Clicquot is also on offer for those who want a touch of elegance.”
Gluten free options are available, including their chips which are cooked in their own separate oil, so gluten intolerant people can still enjoy their favourite snack.
Several dessert options round out the menu to tempt diners with battered Mars Bars, pineapple fritters and banana fritters.
Selfish at The Strand is licensed, serving beer, wine and champagne, and is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week, located on the Ground Level on Marine Parade.
