Swing Dance Goes Steady at The Strand

A new regular monthly social Swing dance event is bringing back the retro vibes to Coolangatta.

Join the Swing Pop Up at The Strand on the fourth Saturday of every month from 6pm – 8pm outside Timezone upstairs on Level 1.

Run by the team at Swing Dance Gold Coast and organised by My Juju Dance Fever at The Strand, Swing Pop Up will be a free social event for budding Swing dance enthusiasts and those wanting to give it a try.

Swing Dance Gold Coast co-owner, Lucy Smith, said the event was aimed at providing their students and the general public with a chance to socialise, practise their favourite moves and enjoy Swing dance performances.
“The Strand is the perfect venue for a regular social dance feature – right in the heart of Coolangatta where social dance has such a strong history in this area,” said Ms Smith.

“Dancing is just the start. People can make a night of it and catch a late night movie or enjoy a hamburger or a couple of pancakes at the Diner when they’re finished dancing.”

Ms Smith said the free event would feature two Swing DJs, a great space to dance and plenty of people to dance with.

“We want to bring the fun back to Coolangatta nights, so we welcome anyone who wants to participate in some good old fashioned fun, dance the night away, make new friends and have a great time.”

The Swing Pop Up is free to attend and is suitable for all ages and abilities.
