The Strand is swinging into Sundays with a new Sunday Dance Session to be held in the Atrium on Sunday 7th August, 2016.
Hosted by My Juju Dance Fever and The Strand, the first event will bring back the popular Swing Dance Gold Coast crew for a Sunday session full of great music and swing dancing goodness.
Swing Dance Gold Coast will be on hand to kick off three hours of free entertainment on Sunday 7th, from 11am to 2pm, beginning with a free Beginner Swing Dance Class from their experienced dance instructors.
The DJs will then play Swing, Rhythm and Blues music from the 1930s to 1950s throughout the set, as swing dance students and social dancers take to the floor and dance to their heart’s content.
Ben Ge, Owner of My Juju Dance Fever
at The Strand, said the free social dance session came about in response to the dance extravaganza held at the centre in the lead up to Cooly Rocks On
“Our first Dance Fever event which was held in May was a great way to introduce the different styles of dance that are extremely popular here on the southern Gold Coast and Tweed, including Rock ‘N Roll, Salsa and Swing,” said Mr Ge.
“We wanted to bring that back on a more regular basis, so our first swinging Sunday Session is all about enjoying dance in the centre and giving people the opportunity to learn this fun style of dance. Expect to see other dance styles featured in the coming months as we bring more of these free events to the heart of Coolangatta.” Keen to know more about swing dance?
